Ensuring safety during in-person appointments

Our office is now open for appointments and following the conclusion of our COVID-19 Risk Assessment, we are pleased to begin conducting in-person Viewings and Market Appraisals. To ensure that all appointments are conducted safely and accordance with Government guidelines, we have in place enhanced safety measures and new protocols for our staff and customers. We ask all customers who are planning on making an appointment to review our Viewing Appointment Procedure and our Market Appraisal Procedure beforehand.

Below is a series of FAQs to help answer any questions you may have about the measures we are taking:

Visting our office

What precautions have you taken at the Bay office and showroom?

We have carried out a thorough Covid-19 Risk Assessment, and we have subsequently adapted our office layout and working situations accordingly. As well as social distancing and thorough hygiene measures, we have installed Perspex social distancing desk screens. We have also introduced new handling and cleaning procedures for keys and social distancing notices have been laid out in the showroom. We will be asking all customers to upload digital versions of documentation to avoid cross contamination through document handling.

Can I visit the Bay office and showroom?

Our office is open and team members are blending home and on-site working. Appointments will be required to visit our office, which allows us to ensure social distancing can be maintained. A maximum of two people will be allowed per appointment. Appointments will be one at a time and maybe subject to a time limit.in busy periods. To make an appointment get in touch with us by telephone, email or through our website. When you are in the office ,we will not be greeting you with a customary handshake at the moment to minimise contact.

Do I need to wear PPE when I visit the Bay office and showroom?

We encourage customers to wear their own PPE in offices if they feel comfortable in doing so. However, to avoid the risk of cross contamination, we will not be providing PPE to customers. Hand sanitiser will be available, but we encourage customers to use their own before attending.

Viewings

Can I book a viewing?

Yes, we are now conducting in-person viewings under strict social distancing guidelines. To minimise the number of in-person viewings, wherever possible, first viewings must be done virtually. We encourage our customers to make use of our wide selection of pre-filmed videos and virtual tours. We are gradually uploading these to our website and property portals. Please speak with our team about arranging a virtual viewing, where available, as a preliminary step. If a property does not have a video tour please let us know and we will do our best to get a video tour recorded for you In-person viewings will be prioritised for those clients in an immediate proceedable position.

Will I have to bring my own PPE (Personal Protective Equipment on the viewing?

Yes, we require all viewers to wear a face covering. These will not be provided by Bay. Unfortunately, you will not be permitted to view a property without wearing a face covering and using hand sanitiser. This is to protect you, any current occupiers of a property, and our teams and in line with Government guidelines. We ask that viewers bring their own hand sanitiser to be used prior to entering the property.

How many people can attend the viewing?

A limit of 2 people (must be from the same household) in addition to the Bay Team Member, will be allowed to view the property. We kindly ask that children are not present at the viewing. If viewers from separate households wish to view, additional appointments would be necessary.

What are you doing to help ensure safety on the viewing?

A Bay Team Member will open-up the property and assess the area prior to the appointment to help minimise any touch points. A Bay Team Member will be carrying hand sanitizer and will sanitise their hands before entering the property If a property is currently occupied (vendors, landlords, or tenants) we ask that they sanitise all doors handles and touch points prior to the viewing and on completion of the viewing. To ensure safety, we request that you avoid touching surfaces as much as possible.

Will there be a time limit on viewings?

Yes. To minimise time inside an enclosed space, we will try to minimise in-person viewings to around 15 minutes.

What if my property is on the market and I am concerned about people visiting?

We will only be conducting viewings on your property with people who have already viewed a video tour, or who we know are able to proceed. If you are shielding or have symptoms of Coronavirus we will not be doing viewings on your property. We will also not be bringing anyone to your house who has any symptoms. We strongly advise that tenants and owners leave the property during a viewing so as to reduce the potential for further contact.

Market Appraisals

How many people can attend the market appraisal?

Only one of our team members will be attending the market appraisal appointment. Where possible, we request that only the legal owner(s) attend the appointment.

Will the Team Member wear PPE?

Yes, all our team members will wear personal protective equipment, including a face covering during all in-person appointments. They will also use hand sanitiser before entering a property, and again after they leave.

Do I need to wear PPE during the Market Appraisal?

Although we encourage you to do so, the use of PPE by clients during a valuation is not a requirement.

Do I need to prepare the property before the Market Appraisal takes place?

Yes. We ask that you open doors throughout the property before we come in to help ensure we are able to move through the property with minimal surface contact. A Bay Team Member will be carrying hand sanitizer and will sanitise their hands before entering your property. We ask that you do the same and kindly sanitise all door handles and touch points.

Will you be social distancing during the appointment?

Yes, our teams will observe social distancing throughout the property visit. Where possible, we would be grateful if the property can be vacant whilst we conduct the Market Appraisal. If this is not practicable, we would be grateful if you and any family members could remain in one room to help us maintain a two-metre social distance. We respectfully ask that we are not followed around your property. Instead, we can discuss the appraisal at the end, at safe social distance and preferably outside the property. If this is not practical, we can discuss the appraisal via a phone call or online meeting.
