Following today's announcement from the First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford, there will be a partial reopening of the housing market in Wales from Monday 22 June 2020. Bay Estate & Letting Agents will be re-opening their office by appointment only and physical property viewings will be able to re-commence with conditions.

From Monday, Estate and Letting Agents can reopen their offices and the Welsh Government’s five-mile Coronavirus travel restrictions are lifted for the property sector. This means that all house moves can proceed where the residential property has been vacant for at least 72 hours. House moves can take place where a sale has been agreed but not yet completed. The marketing and viewing of unoccupied residential property can take place. Valuations and inspections of occupied residential property is allowed but should be done so safely and in line with the Welsh Government’s guidance on working in someone’s home.

Can I come into your office?

You can attend by appointment only, so that we may control the office environment to ensure the safety of you and our staff. Please call or email us first to discuss making an appointment. We ask that you only attend your appointment if you are well and not showing any of the key COVID symptoms.

Social Distancing Measures

When you arrive at the office for your appointment, you will notice that we have put various social distancing measures in place which include desk screens, floor markings and safety communications. If you are concerned about the measures we have in place, please discuss with us when booking your appointment.

Can I view a property?

You can now view vacant properties in-person. Wherever possible, first viewings must be done virtually, which involves viewing a property via a video chat or using a pre-filmed video or virtual tour. After this, if you wish to see that property in-person we will discuss with you the specific requirements to keep the viewing process safe. This may involve completing a health questionnaire prior to the viewing. We will do everything we can to minimise any physical contact with doors and surfaces to keep you safe. We will also be limiting the number of people who can attend the viewings.
