Friendly and fun! For the young and young
at heart there’s just so much to see
and do. Whether it’s wandering through
the mouth-watering produce market featuring
local specialities, city centre stores or
mall shopping, you’re in for an experience
you’ll never forget.
Swansea is at the centre of South West Wales
and makes a great base for discovering our
Celtic heartland. For something livelier just
step out in the evening and there’s
entertainment for all tastes: multiplex cinemas,
bowling, theatre, concerts, arts events and
night clubs. Not forgetting Swansea’s
famous Café Quarter on Wind Street
with an eclectic collection of wine bars,
theme pubs and restaurants with it’s
own unforgettable street party atmosphere. |

Just nineteen miles long, the
peninsula is an unbelievable mix of sandy
beaches, craggy coves, dramatic limestone
cliffs and wild moor land, estuary, marshlands,
woods and meadows. Much of the countryside
is protected as National Trust and nature
reserve and still remains working farmland.
Scattered throughout thelandscape are small
villages and communities, the largest being
Mumbles, whichis a short journey round the
bay from Swansea with colourful cottages,
a seaside village lifestyle, ambiance and
friendly bustle. Little shops, sophisticated
café bars, ice cream parlours and restaurants
make it a very special place.
